Jack Grealish has reserved special praise for reported Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham whilst on England duty.

Grealish was conducting an interview on Hayters TV (4mins 40secs) when he was asked if he’s ever played with an 18-year-old as good as Bellingham.

“I haven’t actually. It’s scary how talented he is at 18 years of age,” he said. “He’s just so mature and is built like he’s my age, about 26!”

“He has so much technical ability and he’s such a mature player for his age. I can tell you one thing, I was nowhere near as good as he was when I was 18. I was on loan at Notts County and was a little scrawny thing,” said Grealish.

“The way he plays is so mature. You see kids who are 18, 19 who are talented but not a lot of them have that mature way about them.”

The £100m boy

Bellingham’s maturity for his age is something that Jordan Henderson also spoke about during the current international break.

In an interview with SPORTbible on Monday, the Liverpool captain used the same word twice to describe the youngster.

“He’s got his feet firmly on the ground [and] has such maturity for a young player,” Henderson said.

It’s hard to believe that Bellingham is just eighteen. Having broke into the Birmingham City side as a 16-year-old, he has been excelling for Borussia Dortmund for the last two years now.

That maturity beyond his years as well as his actual years, mean that Liverpool should seriously consider making him the successor to Grealish’s most expensive British footballer tag.

Grealish cost £100m when joining Manchester City from Aston Villa last summer. There have been reports that Bellingham would set any club back at least that amount were he to sign for them (Eurosport).

No time to waste

According to reports from Sport Bild earlier in the week, Liverpool will have to wait until summer 2023 to sign Bellingham. The midfielder will be turning a geriatric 20-years-old in June of that year.

If Bellingham is this good at just eighteen, he is likely to be even more influential for club and country in a years time.

Liverpool have been reported by The Mirror as being the club most likely to win the race for the Dortmund man. If The Reds are serious about bringing the player to Anfield, they should look to get a deal tied up as quickly as possible.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly making a personal push for Liverpool to sign Bellingham. It isn’t often that the boss gets involved in transfer matters. But the England player is that good that Liverpool can’t let him get away.
