There are six teams trying to sign Raphinha, according to reports – including Liverpool. Leeds United have a price set.

This comes from the Mirror. They claim that Liverpool are one of just six teams hoping to sign Raphinha from Leeds United this summer.

Unsurprisingly, most of the competition comes from the Premier League. West Ham United hold an interest, having tried to sign the player in January. Then Manchester City and Newcastle United, with all of their money, are in this race, too.

Then come the giants – Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Both teams certainly carry the most competition with Liverpool when it comes to prestige.

Leeds United know of the interest, of course, and there’s a sense that they’ll have to sell if relegated this season. For now, though, the price on Raphinha is £60m. The Mirror believe that might be too rich for Barcelona.

The others could see that as a smart investment, however.

Liverpool one of six clubs in for Raphinha

There has been a lot of chatter around Raphinha and Liverpool over the last week – it’s almost like there’s a lack of football to talk about. We will say that most of the reports ring true, though.

This one certainly does and we do envisage this level of competition for Raphinha. Liverpool do seem to want him, too, there have been strong links dating back to last summer.

It’ll likely come down to convincing Raphinha himself. All of these clubs can offer him something, after all, from a starring role in a young project to almost guaranteed trophies at a major club. It just depends what he wants as a next step.

We do believe that Liverpool would only buy Raphinha if they see a way he can clearly improve, though. There are aspects to his game that don’t quite mesh with the Reds – but that’s just part of the game here.
