Former Liverpool academy striker Ethan Ennis scored again on Thursday to record his fifth goal in the last three games.
The 17-year-old left Liverpool for Manchester United last summer after rejecting a contract offer from The Reds.
And he is now making Liverpool wish they hadn’t taken no for an answer. His latest goal was a lovely curling effort into the top corner from outside the area.
That followed on from back-to-back doubles, including a brace in the 5-5 draw with Liverpool two weeks ago.

To make matters even more galling, he is excelling in the colours of Liverpool’s arch rivals. Including his strike on Thursday afternoon, the youngster now has six goals in 10 games in the Under 18 Premier League for Man United.
Ennis bagged five goals in eight games for Liverpool under18’s last season and helped them to reach the final of the FA Youth Cup.
Crossing the divide
Ennis’ story isn’t one seen too often. There aren’t many players at all who can claim to have made the journey between Liverpool and United.
The Reds have recently been credited with an interest in signing Marcus Rashford this summer.
But in case any further proof was needed, Ennis’ move should provide more evidence that the transfer is incredibly unlikely.

It’s obviously brilliant to see the young man doing so well. But should the striker go on to make the breakthrough for United, there will be Liverpool fans who will feel sick at having lost an excellent young player to one of their biggest rivals.
If Rashford were to join Liverpool, that feeling would be multiplied hundreds of times for United fans.
Hopefully young Ethan can keep excelling and have a long career in the game. But there are some things in football that just shouldn’t happen. Let’s hope he’s the last player to swap Anfield for Old Trafford for quite some time.
