Fabrizio Romano offered a transfer update on Divock Origi as the forward comes to the end of his Liverpool contract. The Belgian has ‘many’ chances to leave.

Fabrizio Romano believes that Liverpool fans don’t have much longer to enjoy Divock Origi. The Belgian’s contract expires in the summer and there’s little suggestion that a new one is on the way.

In fact, Romano says Origi does want to leave the club – and he’s got a lot of places to choose from.

“For Divock Origi, first point, many, many chances for him to leave Liverpool in the summer as a free agent,” Romano told his Here We Go podcast.

“Because at the moment the expectation for him is to go. He wants to try a new experience, something different.

That appears to be that, then. And as reports in recent days suggest, AC Milan appear to be Origi’s most likely destination. Tutto Mercato Web are just one outlet in Italy claiming that the Rossoneri lead the race and Romano backs that up.

“AC Milan are looking for a striker. They’ve met with Origi’s agent, they made a proposal, the verbal agreement is close. They’re pushing, on the Milan side, to sign Origi on a free.”

Divock Origi to leave Liverpool

It’s been coming – the only surprise, really, is that Origi didn’t depart in the January transfer window. Liverpool now won’t receive any kind of fee for a player who has built a decent reputation in Red.

Certainly, Origi hasn’t played as often as he’d have liked. He’s still managed to leave his mark on the club, however, scoring some incredibly important goals – and that’s an understatement if anything.

And really, Origi is a far better player than he appears on the surface. He boasts a very solid goal record and the only reason there aren’t more games for him is because of the intense competition at Liverpool.

We have no doubt that Origi will shine when he moves on – and that everyone will be sad to see him go.
