Ousmane Dembélé provided an incredible assist on Sunday evening and that should get the attention of Liverpool. The Frenchman helped Barcelona to an incredible win.
Ousmane Dembélé had a moment to remember against Real Madrid as Barcelona ran riot at the Santiago Bernabeu. Barca won 4-0 in a sensational display of their improvement over the course of the season.
Every player in the Barcelona team played their part, of course, but we think Liverpool should pay serious attention to Dembélé. His assist for the opener was fantastic and exactly the type of wing play that the Reds love.
The Frenchman picked the ball up on the right flank, isolating Nacho at left-bac for Real. The defender had no idea what way Dembélé was going to, however, as he threatened to cut inside but flicked the ball down the line with his left foot.
An incredible burst of pace opened up the chance for a driven cross into the box that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put away. It was fantastic and exactly what Dembélé is all about – unpredictable pace that will roast a defender in isolation.

And Dembéléis a particularly interesting player to note because his contract expires in the summer. Liverpool – or anyone else – can sign him without a transfer fee. This is a player considered ‘unbelievable’ by Aubameyang and who is capable of the kind of quality we saw in Madrid.
He’s also someone recently linked with Liverpool. Mundo Deportivo report that Jurgen Klopp sees him as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. Only if the Egyptian leaves the club, of course.
Dembélé’s assist shows why that is. His potential in the right environment is frightening and Liverpool could well give it to him. The raw talent is undoubtedly there and we’d love to see what the Reds could do with him.
