Liverpool have made it known that they are big admirers of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, according to reports. The forward could leave Old Trafford.
This comes from the Manchester Evening News. They claim that Liverpool are one of several teams to have made their interest in Marcus Rashford known.
The England striker has one year left on his Manchester United contract and could leave the club this summer. That’s sparked interest from major clubs, including Barcelona.
Interest from Liverpool is unquestionably the most interesting, of course. There hasn’t been a transfer between the two clubs since 1964, after all, as the two rivals refuse to do business together.
Liverpool, though, apparently think there’s a small chance at signing a player Jurgen Klopp greatly admires.
Liverpool hold interest in Marcus Rashford transfer
So, the chances of Liverpool signing Rashford this summer are zero. We literally believe they are at zero and that United wouldn’t begin to entertain the idea. Rule it out.
But that doesn’t actually mean this is impossible. We imagine Liverpool ‘found a way’ to make their interest known to Rashford, just in case he fancies leaving on a free transfer in 2023. It’s really the only way the Reds could sign him – making sure United can’t stop it.

If there’s even a remote chance of that, though, United will do all they can to sell this summer. Seeing Rashford, a player who is United through-and-through move to Liverpool would be an absolute disaster.
For what it’s worth, we can’t see Rashford doing that. He’d be an incredible signing for the club but to say that would destroy his reputation at United would be an understatement. We won’t hold our breath.
