Fabrizio Romano says Jonathan David will leave Lille this summer after some strong links to Liverpool. The striker is a big talent.
Fabrizio Romano is adamant that Jonathan David is available to buy this summer – a player long-linked with Liverpool. But it appears that there’s quite a bit of competition here, with 10 clubs supposedly watching the player.
“Jonathan David, definitely one to watch in UCL and in the summer,” Romano wrote on Twitter. “He will leave Lille – transfer will surely happen, ongoing process.
“He’s on the list for 10 European top clubs.”
David is a player Liverpool supposedly like a lot. Matthew Scianitti, a journalist with Canadian outlet TSN, claimed last August that the Reds had him high on their list.
And that came one year after Liverpool had David on their shortlist for a new forward. They eventually opted for Diogo Jota but, clearly, rated the Candian as a potential star.
Well, now they’ll get a second chance to sign the player.
We wrote back in early 2021 that David fit the profile of a Liverpool striker. He’s only strengthened that idea since, winning Ligue 1 with Lille and adding far more goals to his game.
In fact, we now see him as a sensational parter for the likes of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. David could be the third piece of a sensational pressing line – a world-class one to live up to the standards of Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
So if David truly is available this summer, we’d love to see Liverpool at the front of the queue. David is a brilliant talent and one of our favourite strikers in Europe right now. And he’s only going to get better in Red.
