Jurgen Klopp claims Luis Diaz is really standing out in training for Liverpool. The Colombian has been a revelation.
Luis Diaz hasn’t even been at Liverpool long, only joining at the end of January. People just can’t stop talking about him, though – that’s the impact he’s had since his arrival.
Few players have ever arrived at Liverpool and hit the ground running quite like this. Some, like Fabinho and Andy Robertson, took months before becoming regulars at Anfield.
Diaz, though, looks like he’s been at the club for a very long time. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is certainly impressed as he, yet again, found himself talking about the player on Friday.
“[Diaz’s start has been] outstanding, surprisingly quick – everything you wish for,” Klopp told a press conference. “Whenever you sign a player, you never know how quick it will go.
“Luis has so many things he needs to have an impact here and we saw that in the first moment.
“There’s still a difference between seeing it in training and bringing it on the pitch. But you really get what you see in training, you get it in the game. Brilliant so far.”
Jurgen Klopp loves Luis Diaz’s Liverpool start
It’s certainly fantastic to hear that Diaz’s impressive displays aren’t limited to games. Though, his training displays will be the main reason Klopp trusts him so much already.

Diaz’s start has been something special, earning that trust and fitting in better than anyone ever really has. Virgil van Dijk is the last time someone arrived midway through a season and clicked like this – and even that was a rare one.
And it’s not as though Diaz only looks good out there. His stats are absolutely incredible for someone playing in a new country without much preparation.
A lot to shout about, then. Liverpool have a special player here on all accounts.
