Jurgen Klopp delivered a very positive injury update for Liverpool ahead of Brighton on Saturday. The Reds had some players missing from training photos.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had positive news on the injury front as the Reds prepare to take on Brighton. For starters, Roberto Firmino is returning.

Klopp left no doubt about that one – “He is back,” he told a press conference on Friday morning.

But there were other worries. Several stars – including Virgil van Dijk – were absent from training photos this week, sparking fears they were missing this weekend. Any absentee is a big miss right now as Liverpool essentially need to try and win every remaining game.

Klopp, though, says there’s nothing to worry about and he actually has a full squad right now.

“We had a few little things but so far, nobody is out of training,” said Klopp. “So far I didn’t get any news injury-wise. I think they all should be ready.”

Liverpool ready to go vs Brighton

It’s fantastic news for what should be a tricky game. Brighton really troubled Liverpool earlier in the season, going to Anfield and coming away with more shots on target. That very rarely happens.

The game finished 2-2 as the Reds actually gave up a 2-0 lead. It now works as a warning – drop your focus and Brighton will worry you.

Thus it’s great to see that Liverpool can count on a full squad here. There may be some tired legs, of course, after the Inter game but Klopp should be able to work around that quite easily with the depth at his disposal.

Liverpool, then, can pick the best squad possible to handle Brighton. The Seagulls are in poor form but don’t rule out a tough game at the Amex.
