Liverpool have got to pay attention to Ryan Gravenberch and his reported asking price. The Ajax midfielder could be on the move.

Fabrizio Romano claims Ryan Gravenberch could be on the move this summer. He’s supposedly open to Bayern Munich, who held discussions with agent Mino Raiola this week.

But there’s a hold-up – the asking price. Bayern aren’t apparently all that open to spending £25m as of now and that could end any deal. There aren’t any advanced talks with Ajax as a result.

At that price, though, Liverpool will surely have a look.

Liverpool must look at Ryan Gravenberch

Liverpool supposedly rate Gravenberch highly and he was on their list of players they like as of last summer. That’s according to Goal, anyway.

And we imagine the Reds only like the player more after Ajax’s spectacular efforts in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Gravenberch has grown his reputation as a result – hence Bayern’s apparent interest.

But if the Bavarians aren’t willing to pay that £25m, we think Liverpool should step in. Here’s a shot at a fantastically gifted young player who could dominate the Reds’ midfield for years to come.

We’ve written before how the player labelled ‘better than [Paul] Pogba’ feels like a perfect fit for what Liverpool are doing right now. He’s the perfect age to slot in with Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Kaide Gordon and the like as a teenager with a bright future.

Liverpool, after all, have both Jordan Henderson and Thiago as star midfielders now past 30. James Milner, of course, is far past that age, while both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita face uncertain futures. The Reds’ midfield isn’t clear going forward but Gravenberch would bring much-needed long-term certainty for a very tempting price.
