Alisson Becker supposedly wasn’t happy in the slightest when Liverpool conceded to Inter at Anfield on Tuesday evening. The Reds slipped up but still qualified.
Liverpool are through to the UEFA Champions League quarter-final – but it wasn’t all that easy. They actually lost to Inter at Anfield but scraped through. Now, they should have won comfortably, of course.
Joel Matip hit the crossbar in the first half, with Mohamed Salah managing to find each post in the second. The only player capable of finding the netted part of the goal was, unfortunately, Lautaro Martinez.
The Argentine scored a sensational goal, cutting across the ball to find the far corner from outside the box. It was a brilliant hit – but he probably shouldn’t have had the chance.
Liverpool made a complete mess of a goal kick, losing the ball deep inside their own half and then failing to stop Inter’s counter. Rachel Brown-Finnis, doing punditry for BT Sport, noticed Alisson Becker was particularly furious in the Liverpool goal.
“You see Alisson afterwards – he’s absolutely livid because it’s come from a goal kick,” said the former England and Liverpool goalkeeper. “It’s played out, rubbish touch from [Joel] Matip, for a start, then a really poor ball.
“Then it’s the reaction you want, as a goalkeeper you want pressure on the ball and no player gets near it. I get it – they’re out of shape and they’re not in an ideal position to press and effect the ball but they have to do something.”

Hardly surprising, really. Alisson has every right to have been livid with what he saw. Liverpool brought on the Inter goal completely on their own with a dreadful attempt at playing out from the back.
In the end, it didn’t really matter – and Liverpool possibly have Alexis Sanchez to thank for that. His red card eliminated any momentum Inter gained from the goal. But it’s not the kind of thing that can happen again.
Alisson wasn’t happy with it and the rest of the team will join him in that when they watch it back.
