Manchester United are the only club in for one-time Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele, according to reports. The Reds could reignite their interest.
Sport claim that Manchester United are now the only side still in for Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and expected to leave Barcelona for nothing. Only, his options are now very limited.
The likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are out of the race for various reasons, leaving just United. If they don’t hand Dembele the offer he wants, however, the winger’s future becomes incredibly unclear.
It’s an interesting situation, certainly, and one that might just tempt Liverpool.
Liverpool and Ousmane Dembele
Cuatro and Sport are two outlets who have said Liverpool like Dembele in the past. And why wouldn’t they? In a lot of ways, he’s ideal for the Reds.
Dembele is two-footed, able to cover both wings, absolutely rapid and he’s technically great. There’s a reason, after all, that Lionel Messi once called him a ‘phenomenon’. It’s just that things really haven’t worked out at Barcelona. Really, really haven’t worked out.

But we’ve written before that there are few players available with more upside than Dembele. His talent is incredible and Liverpool have a wonderful track record of kicking players on a level. Perhaps they could do the same with the Frenchman.
He’s a risk, certainly – the injury record is a scary one and he has a history of discipline issues. But Dembele could also be a world-class talent available without a transfer fee.
If United truly are the only rival side in the race, Liverpool would have a very good chance of securing him for a reasonable wage. And while it might only make sense if Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane leaves, it’s one we think the Reds should monitor.
