Harry Wilson is playing wonderfully for Fulham after leaving Liverpool in the summer transfer window. The versatile playmaker looks like a steal.
Harry Wilson joined Fulham from Liverpool for £12m in the summer transfer window but it was quite bittersweet. Here was a young player who’d spent 16 years with the Reds and for a long time, it appeared he’d break through.
But the timing was never right. Wilson came to age at a time when Liverpool were one of the world’s best teams, making it incredibly difficult to feature. The 14/15 season? The Welshman would have had his chance. That’s just bad luck.
Eventually, Wilson had to move on – even if he waited as long as he could. And we’re now seeing why both Liverpool and Wilson were willing to wait.
His move to Fulham looks like a fantastic one already.
Harry Wilson is thriving at Fulham
Wilson currently sits in second for assists in the Championship with 11. That’s as many as he managed last season for Cardiff – and there’s still plenty of time remaining.

There are some good reasons for that, of course. Wilson plays for far and away the best attacking side in the Championship and gets to feed 34-goal Aleksander Mitrovic – the Serbian puts away any chances you give him.
Not that Wilson is all about assists. He’s got eight goals in the Championship, too, which is his best return since 2019. And again, there’s more to play.
So really, it looks quite clear that Wilson will prove to be worth far beyond the £12m Fulham paid. He’s still only 24, both scores and assists, and will almost certainly earn promotion to the Premier League this season.
And then Liverpool can see what Wilson is about up close. He’ll have something prove – that’s not in question.
