Former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp has raved about Luis Diaz after this performance in Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final.
The Colombian forward was handed a start by Jurgen Klopp and the former duo delivered rave reviews.
Diaz signed for Liverpool from Porto during the January transfer window.
The versatile forward is slowly but surely getting up to scratch in England and recently fired his first goal for the club against Norwich.
Liverpool defeated Chelsea 11-10 on penalties in the final and after the game, Redknapp heaped praise on one Reds star.
Redknapp told Sky Sports: “Anyone who has seen Luis Diaz play for Liverpool will think they’ve got a very special player here.
“He fits the mould, he fits the profile. He works hard off the ball, he’s a genius with it.
“Diaz looks like a sensational player and he just adds to what they’ve got.”
The 25-year-old was substituted in the second half but he has caught the eye when called upon since his arrival.
Diaz cost a transfer fee that could rise up to £49 million. As a result, he didn’t come cheap but he ticks a lot of boxes for Klopp.

Diaz has been in fine form this season for Porto prior to his arrival at Anfield.
He scored 16 goals and registered six assists, with Liverpool showing a huge desire to sign him in January.
At 25 he has bags of time on his side and his qualities complement Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.
Redknapp has a point about Diaz in that he could become a truly sensational signing for the Reds.
Tonight will be about celebrating but tomorrow Liverpool will be back down to earth and fully focused on their title challenge with Manchester City.
With Diaz doing the business, the Reds could finish the season with a flourish.
