Richard Keys thinks Pep Guardiola’s comments about Liverpool show that the Manchester City manager is worried about The Reds.

Writing on his website richardajkeys.com, Keys stated his belief that Liverpool will pip City to the Premier League title.

“From being nailed on they’re (Man City) now by no means certain,” wrote the former Sky Sports presenter. He then went on to say that he also thinks Liverpool can win the Champions League.

“I fancy Liverpool. And I fancy Liverpool in Europe as well. Why? Because they’re better. They’re stronger.”

Keys also claimed that Guardiola is aware that Liverpool don’t fear his team. This is something which Keys believes is coming across in the manager’s interviews.

“They can grind wins and they’re not afraid of City. There’s a reason Guardiola called them a ‘pain in the ___’ before the Spurs game. He knows,” said Keys.

No lies detected!

What did Guardiola say

Keys is referring to the Man City manager’s comments after his side beat Sporting 5-0 in Lisbon last week.

When asked by CBS Sports Golazo who can catch his side in their current form, it was clear that Pep has one eye on Liverpool’s dominant run of wins.

“Liverpool is six points behind us,” said the Spanish coach.

“Liverpool were our biggest rival in the last seasons, they always were there, they’re a pain in the __ all the time! They’re a fantastic team in Europe.”

Although Guardiola was actually talking about the Champions League, his reference to Liverpool being six points behind them in the league is also worth noting.

Jurgen Klopp’s team have proven to be a thorn in City’s dominance over the last couple of years.

It had looked like Guardiola’s team were on course to run away with the league. But Klopp’s side have clawed them back.

City’s lead could be cut to three points if Liverpool beat Leeds United at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The two sides are due to meet at the Etihad stadium on Premier League Matchday 32 in April.

If Liverpool can keep on City’s coattails until then, that’s going to be an absolute blockbuster of a game.

Come on you Reds!
