Brendan Rodgers was left ruing an excellent save from Alisson Becker to deny his side a goal last night.
Speaking to LCFTV via lcfc.com, the Leicester City manager praised the Liverpool goalkeeper’s early stop against James Maddison.
“We failed with the final passes which can make the difference once we arrived. Their ‘keeper made a really good save from Madders (Maddison),” said the former Liverpool boss.

Rodgers also lamented his team’s failure to defend the set-piece that led to The Reds’ first goal on the night.
“We conceded from a set piece, which has been an ongoing issue for us no matter what structure we play,” he said.
What happened
Liverpool came out of the blocks quickly last night. Fuelled by the excitement of Luis Diaz’s Liverpool debut and the return of Mohamed Salah, Anfield was raucous.
But after the early goal didn’t come, Leicester had a big chance to score a goal of their own.
Maddison was sent through on the left-hand side of the penalty area. Virgil Van Dijk had dropped to cover and subsequently played the Leicester man onside.

With the Dutchman unable to get across quickly enough, a goal looked inevitable.
The angle was slightly against Maddison, but his shooting ability is impressive and he still looked favourite against Alisson in-front of The Kop.
But the Brazilian ‘keeper is a master of the one-v-one. He stood tall and deflected the attacker’s shot over the bar. The save was so good that it initially looked like Maddison had launched it into The Kop of his own volition.
The replays showed that Alisson got a vital touch, though. As is so often with the 29-year-old, he makes difficult saves look easy, or as if they didn’t happen at all.
Although the night went on to be relatively comfortable for Liverpool, this could have been very different had Maddison scored.

Leicester remain the only team The Reds have failed to score against this season. Going 1-0 down early on would have sent tension around the ground.
As it was, Alisson continued the form which saw Jordan Henderson call him “outstanding” via liverpolfc.com after the last Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
What would we do without him?!
