Neco Williams, Divock Origi could reportedly leave Liverpool in next few hours

Liverpool could still move Neco Williams and Divock Origi on before the transfer deadline, according to reports. The Reds have a few hours left.

This comes from Neil Jones. He claims Neco Williams and Divock Origi could still leave Liverpool before the transfer window shuts.

That gives the Reds just a couple of hours to get anything done. Williams and Origi were both linked with exits ahead of deadline day – but few thought it would go to the wire like this.

Liverpool could move Origi on at transfer deadline

Atalanta appear to be the most likely destination for Origi. They’ll apparently move for the Liverpool player if Newcastle United strike a deal to sign Duvan Zapata from the Bergamo side.

That’s according to The Times, anyway. We went into detail here but the desire to move Origi on is fairly obvious. Luis Diaz’s arrival limits his chances further – and the Belgian only has 38 Premier League minutes this season.

Neco Williams needs minutes

Williams is another who rarely plays but his recent form suggests he should be. Maybe not for Liverpool – Trent Alexander-Arnold makes that difficult – but the Welshman clearly has the talent to play regular football.

The Athletic claims Williams now wants to stay at Liverpool and fight for minutes but there is a sense that it’s unlikely he gets them. For that reason, the right offer will surely tempt both the Reds and Williams at the deadline.

Takumi Minamino stays

Jones also claims Minamino will remain with Liverpool. He’s another in Origi’s boat, not getting many minutes and seeing Luis Diaz come in ahead of him.

But the right buyer clearly isn’t there. There was talk of Leeds United but nothing came of it – Minamino will be fighting for a place until May, when everyone will surely assess the situation again.

Until then, Liverpool will hope to see the ‘very clever’ player they hoped for two years ago.
