Liverpool have eyes on their next two major transfers, according to reports. Both Milan Skriniar and Paulo Dybala are on the watch list.
This comes from Tutto Mercato Web. They claim that Liverpool already have eyes beyond the transfer deadline tonight.
There are two players in their sights: Milan Skriniar and Paulo Dybala. The Serie A pair are both entering contract situations that should make deals relatively straightforward.
So let’s look at what each could bring.
Liverpool eye Milan Skriniar transfer
Skriniar is out of contract in 2023, meaning this summer is the last realistic time for Inter to sell him. The real question, however, is why Liverpool want him.
Skriniar is a very talented centre-back but is that what the squad needs right now? They’ve already got Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate to call on – that’s an incredible quartet.
And the most likely to leave of those appears to be Gomez, who isn’t getting many minutes this season. Replacing him with an older player, though, makes little sense. Finding a partner for Konate should take precedence, rather than the 26-year-old Skriniar.
But maybe he’s still young enough to play an immediate role. We’re not sure how Liverpool view Van Dijk and Matip now, with both past 30 and having suffered long-term injuries. Maybe this one is just about justifiable if the Reds like what they see.

Liverpool could get at least five years out of him, certainly.
And Paulo Dybala
TMW said similar during the week – that Liverpool want to sign Dybala as his contract expires in June. He’ll hold talks with Juventus in February but it appears they won’t agree on terms.
We went in-depth on exactly what Dybala could bring here. There’s potential for a transformative effect, if Liverpool made it work.
But his injury record makes it a risky one, as do his potential wages. An exciting signing, undoubtedly, but we won’t hold our collective breath.
