Liverpool have an offer ready for Paulo Dybala, according to reports. The Argentine is out of contract with Juventus in the summer.
This comes from Tutto Mercato Web. They claim that Liverpool are ready to go on a move for Paulo Dybala after talks with Juventus broke down.
Dybala’s contract expires at the end of June and while initial reports suggested a new one was done, Juventus appear to have backed away. It now comes down to a ‘summit’ in February where the two parties will attempt to find new terms.
That’s where Liverpool com in, however. The Reds are lying in wait, it seems, hoping to jump at the chance of Dybala should those talks fail. They already ‘have the satisfaction’ of the player, suggesting the 28-year-old is on board with the idea.
Could Liverpool sign Paulo Dybala?
This would be a huge signing if Liverpool pulled it off. Dybala is an incredible talent and while he perhaps hasn’t fulfilled his enormous potential, he’s still one of the most naturally gifted players around.
Signing him without a transfer fee would be a steal and, potentially, the best-value deal of 2022. Anywhere.
But there’s a long way to go here. For one, Juventus won’t want to lose Dybala for free and they’ll try hard to convince him next month. Max Allegri recently labelled him an ‘extraordinary player’ – the manager is on board with a renewal, at the very least.
There’s also the very real – and arguably likely – possibility that this is merely a case of Liverpool’s name being used to apply pressure on Juventus.
So there needs to be at least one pinch of salt here – possibly more.
This would be a star signing, though, and a real statement if Liverpool get it done. We won’t exactly hold our breath but it’s certainly one to watch over the next month or two.
