Alisson Becker is clearly very happy at Liverpool. It has only been three-and-a-half years since the Brazilian custodian signed for the The Reds. But given his relationship with the club, it feels like a lot longer.

The 29-year-old recently signed a new deal that will keep him at Liverpool until 2027. Upon signing, he declared that the decision “was not hard” due to his family being settled in the city.

In an interview with liverpoolfc.com, goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarel has shed more light on his compatriot’s happiness in Liverpool.

“Alisson always talked to me about Liverpool; about the ambience and that the people were very friendly. Everything he told me, I can now see that it was true!” said The Reds newest member of staff, who knew Alisson well from their time working together with the Brazilian national side.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to hear that Alisson is happy. He is again showing why he is one of the best ‘keepers in the world this season.

If he fulfils his contract at the club, he will surely go down as one of Liverpool’s best ever goalies.

What else did Taffarel say

The World Cup-winning ‘keeper spoke about the quality of Liverpool’s goalkeeping options. “Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Adrian has lots of experience and Caoimhin is showing his quality in the cups,” he said.

He also went on to talk about the importance of having Brazilians at Liverpool to meet-up with.

“Brazilian people, we always like to socialise together so it is good for us to have fellow Brazilians here, but it is also important to have friendships with people from here,” he said.

With Fabinho and Roberto Firmino to compliment his long-term friend Alisson, Taffarel is settling in.

We recently saw in a video from Liverpool how important Liverpool’s three Brazilian players are to each other.

Alisson described Fabinho and Firmino as “like brothers”, whilst Fabinho shared that the three players and their families regularly have meals at each others houses.

It’s great that three important national team players are actively promoting Liverpool as a club and a city. It can surely only help The Reds if they are looking to bring in more Brazilian players in the future.
