Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler is ready to answer an SOS and manage the team tomorrow as Covid ravages the Anfield ranks.
The former striker has made a comical quip on social media this morning. It comes after the club cancelled a press conference with Pep Lijnders after he was struck down with illness too.
Boss Jurgen Klopp is already isolating. The German missed the 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Sunday and was also set to be ruled out of Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final with Arsenal.
Liverpool are now in real trouble. A request has been made to the FA to cancel the forthcoming clash, with the Reds awaiting a response.

Dangerous precedents have been made previously though. Aston Villa had to play a weakened team in last year’s FA Cup, whilst other clubs have been made to forfeit their places in cup competitions due to Covid.
A decision will need to be made as to whether the game can be postponed. If it can’t, Liverpool might have to call on the academy to fulfil such an important fixture.
Fowler has come up with a solution though. He’s replied to Daily Mail journalist, Dominic King on Twitter. He says he’s ready to take on the mantle of manager for one night only during Thursday’s clash!
Will Fowler manage Liverpool one day?
Possibly! He is currently earning his stripes in the world of management and it’s really a case of never say never.
Fowler, 46, is out of work having left East Bengal in India last year. He’s also managed Muangthong United and Brisbane Roar during an intriguing managerial career.
Clearly, there will be better suited former player managerial candidates when Klopp calls it quits. Steven Gerrard for example has experience of managing Rangers and now Aston Villa on his CV.

- TARGET: Liverpool want former player
Fowler perhaps needs to get himself hooked up with an English club and get on the ladder. if he can do that and prove himself then who knows what the future holds.
The former striker is clearly making light of a tricky situation that Liverpool find themselves in right now.
If the FA do make them play on Thursday, however, they might just give their former talisman a quick call!
