'Actually insane', 'Incredible': Some Liverpool fans blown away by £65,000-a-week star

Liverpool showcased their status as mentality monsters on home soil with a comeback victory over Leicester last night.

The Reds trailed 3-2 deep into stoppage time but a late Takumi Minamino goal earned them a penalty shootout against Leicester.

Liverpool prevailed from the spot, winning the game 5-4 to set up a semi-final with Arsenal.

Brendan Rodgers’ team led 3-1 at the interval. Jamie Vardy scored twice, with James Maddison lashing home a truly stunning strike.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diogo Jota and Minamino scored for the hosts.

It was the form of another man that had Liverpool fans impressed on Twitter, with Kostas Tsimikas coming in for some praise.

The left-back lined up in Jurgen Klopp’s team, with the boss choosing to shuffle his pack.

Tsimikas has earned more opportunities during 2021/22 and he’s starting to show supporters exactly what he’s capable of.

The Greek defender signed for Liverpool for £10 million from Olympiacos in 2020.

During his maiden campaign, he found regular games hard to come by and featured just seven times.

Tsimikas has played 13 times for Liverpool already this season and it would seem as though he’s enjoying his football.

Last night he was excellent and helped the Reds progress in the Carabao Cup.

What have Liverpool fans said about Tsimikas?

It’s fair to say they’re pretty impressed, to say the least.

Of course, supporters largely prefer the brilliance of Andy Robertson but Tsimikas is proving a decent alternative.

The 25-year-old is proving a useful addition to the Anfield ranks and fans are happy with his displays this season.

Tsimikas will hope to feature in the semi-final and help Liverpool reach the League Cup final later in the season.

After his performance last night, supporters took to Twitter and here is what they had to say about the £65,000-a-week player.
