Liverpool could be set to receive a bid for Nathaniel Phillips from West Ham if reports are to be believed.
The ‘Bolton Baresi’, as fans fondly refer to him, was impressive at centre-back against AC Milan in Liverpool’s 2-1 win in the Champions League last week.
He had the audacity to Cruyff-turn in his own box, shocking Zlatan Ibrahimovic and sending Franck Kessie flying in the process.
A report from the London Evening Standard from last week claimed that Phillips was on a shortlist of defenders that West Ham were considering. His name was in the mix alongside James Tarkowski and Nathan Ake.
A follow-up report now claims that the Hammers are prepared to push ahead with a move for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips in January.
Liverpool are reportedly only prepared to let him go if they are paid around £10m, which I believe is a reasonable fee for a player unlikely to play much football going forward.
His only starts this season have come in the EFL Cup against Preston North End and in a meaningless Champions League game, which highlights his position in the centre-back pecking order at Anfield.

A move away from the club is needed for him to grow and develop. He is a player that Klopp rates very highly, but that isn’t something the German can follow up on in terms of game time.
Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate all stand in the 24-year-old’s way, which means a move is a must for him personally. West Ham would be a fantastic club to join and, with David Moyes coaching his group of players excellently, Nat would be in good hands.
