Mohamed Salah scored his 20th goal of the season to help Liverpool beat AC Milan in the Champions League group stages.
The Egyptian has reached 20 goals for the season before Christmas as his utterly ridiculous form continues. It’s never been a secret that Salah is a top player, but he is reaching an entirely different level now.
His first-time finish was superb and levelled the score after Milan took the lead through Fikayo Tomori. He was quiet throughout the game but elite forwards find the back of the net even when playing poorly.
Salah receives widespread praise after AC Milan win
“Without the era of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, how would we think of Mohamed Salah right now?” asked Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live. “We would think of him as the best in the business.”

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon said: “Mohamed Salah is up there with any other player I’ve seen in the past few years. He is the closest player I’ve seen to Lionel Messi.”
Salah is outscoring Messi and Ronaldo as well as other elite forwards like Karim Benzema. Only Robert Lewandowski has more but the Liverpool star has more assists.
Michael Owen says Salah has come a long way with his finishing. He told BT Sport: “He makes it look so easy. It’s not an easy finish at all.
“He takes it as it’s coming down. A yard lower the keeper saves it, a yard higher he saves it. He just makes it look easy. He was an average finisher earlier in his career and now he is just unbelievable.”
Klopp deserves praise for the Egyptian King’s progress
Before Salah joined Liverpool, he was considered a ‘Chelsea flop.’ That was in spite of his incredible form at AS Roma, but now he is the best player in the world.
It was Klopp who helped him go from a brilliant attacker to the best goal-scoring winger on the planet.
