Liverpool won 4-1 vs Everton on Wednesday in a wonderful performance at Goodison Park. Here are our picks for the three best Reds on the day.

Jordan Henderson

What more can you ask for from your captain? Jordan Henderson got Liverpool off to a magnificent start here vs Everton

His finish for the first goal was simply brilliant. Wrong foot, outside the box, controlled into the corner. A fantastic moment in any game – let alone at Goodison Park.

Henderson then set up Mohamed Salah for the second goal with a fine pass into the channel. Both moments came inside the opening 20 minutes for a sensational start.

And he didn’t stop there. Henderson created several chances here, consistently proving to be too much for Everton. One to remember.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah just looked unstoppable for Liverpool vs Everton here. Neither of his chances were particularly easy but he left an in-form Jordan Pickford helpless.

The first saw him receive Henderson’s pass in behind and use a wonderful first touch to set up a world-class finish. Just an incredible piece of forward play.

The second, though, was something special. Seamus Coleman made a mistake on halfway, allowing the Egyptian to storm in behind. Somehow, Salah kept the ball comfortably under pressure for 40 yards. The finish past Pickford felt inevitable.

Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota is getting better and better in the False 9 role. There was a time when we really weren’t sure about him there. Now? He looks world-class.

Jota had one chances in this – if you can call it that – and scored a brilliant goal. But three key passes, three tackles, three headers, two dribbles – it’s Roberto Firmino stuff.

Jota caught the eye with his goal but just how perfect he was here may fly under the radar. No one should doubt how good he was here, though – no Liverpool player was better vs Everton than Jota.
