Mohamed Salah showed once again he's the best in Liverpool win

Mohamed Salah is in such good form that scoring against the likes of Arsenal is no longer a talking point but he deserves every bit of praise coming his way.

Liverpool have always had great forwards from Kenny Dalglish to Robbie Fowler to Michael Owen to Fernando Torres to Luis Suarez to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Diogo Jota can reach those levels if he keeps progressing but Salah is my all-time favourite Liverpool attacker and the ridiculous part is that he isn’t slowing down at all.

Hopefully, FSG resolve his contract situation soon as he is already a club legend.

If anything, it seems as though the Egyptian is peaking for the second time and, if it weren’t for AFCON, I would be confident that he has what it takes to break his own record of 44 goals and 16 assists set in the 2017/18 season.

In 16 games for Liverpool this season, he has 16 goals and six assists. He just needs 15 more goals to equal his tally from last term and seems destined to win the Premier League Golden Boot for this season.

Against Arsenal, he played with the pace and goal-hungry nature we are so used. But he also showed his experience and seemed to play like the veteran he can now be classed as.

He will be 30 next year and, while he is nowhere near done at the elite level he has now been operating at for five years, Liverpool fans should take special care to cherish every moment he gives us.

220 career goals in 470 games is outrageous – a strike rate of 0.46 is not too far behind Sergio Aguero’s 0.53 goal per game rate and the ex-Manchester City forward is one of the Premier League’s best ever strikers.

That’s what blows me away. Kun played as a striker but Salah has operated as a right-winger for Liverpool. Yet has posted single-season numbers that even the best ever Premier League no.9s can’t compare to.
