Sead Kolasinac ruled out of Liverpool clash plus update on Thomas Partey fitness

Sead Kolasinac has been ruled out of Arsenal’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool while Thomas Partey is a doubt as well.

The Bosnian, who joined Arsenal for free, suffered a horror injury against Finland and will definitely miss the game against Liverpool but with the form of Kieran Tierney, he likely would have been on the bench anyway.

Still, Mikel Arteta will be frustrated to have any of his players ruled out and his frustrations could peak if Partey is declared unfit to face the Reds and Charles Watts reports that the Gunners ‘are’ hopeful he can feature.

The Goal journalist also reports that Aubameyang is fit to face Liverpool and has been in training.

He reported on Twitter: “Aubameyang is back training today at London Colney as normal. His early return from international duty was pre-planned with Gabon. No injury or anything like that. He’s fine for Saturday.”

Liverpool should be able to beat Arsenal without fuss but with the main issue being their defence, Klopp will be very keen to keep Aubameyang quiet as he is their main goal threat.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

The Gunners have been a lot more fluid in attack recently, with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe interchanging with Auba up top and so the Reds will need to disrupt their rhythm closer to their goal.

Liverpool are the favourites to win and with Mohamed Salah in the form of his life, Arteta will hope they can keep him quiet but it’s going to be a tough ask for a defence that has conceded 13 goals.

The Reds haven’t done much better defensively with 11 goals conceded but that can be attributed to the lack of consistency in midfield with Keita, Jones, Thiago, Fabinho and Elliott all picking up injuries this season.

Now, with Jordan Henderson likely to be partnered with Thiago and Fabinho, Liverpool should be able to dominate the game and if they take their chances, it should be a straightforward game.
