Liverpool fans are over the moon as Harvey Elliott has been pictured running outside at Kirkby Training Centre.
The Reds are finally getting some good injury news after what has felt like endless fresh injuries.
Elliott, who is valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt despite being just 18, was struck down with a horrible injury just as he was settling into the starting XI.
Now, there’s no news on when the teenager will be back in team training, but it’s encouraging to see him back outside and taking a major step in the right direction.
Elliott was so impressive that Jurgen Klopp had him in the starting XI ahead of Naby Keita at a time when the Guinean was in good form but Liverpool have been without both of them recently after the former RB Leipzig star was cruelly struck down with a hamstring injury.
If Elliott can return to action in January that would be perfect timing as both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will be at AFCON but it would be very soon after an injury like his to return to action.
Liverpool won’t want to rush him back or place any unnecessary pressure on his return to action. Clubs typically like to limit expectations on injured players to allow them to get back into the groove as naturally as possible.
Not only does Elliott need time and space to recover, but he’s also the biggest young talent coming through the ranks and it would be bad press to rush him back only for him to get injured again.
