Borussia Dortmund could beat Liverpool to another signing as they lead Karim Adeyemi transfer chase

Liverpool could miss out on another transfer target to Borussia Dortmund as the Germans lead the chase to sign Karim Adeyemi.

After missing out on Donyell Malen’s signature in the summer, Liverpool are led by BVB in the race to sign Adeyemi, according to Bild as cited by Sport Witness.

Journalists Tobias Altschäffl and Christian Falk say that Liverpool can provide competition to Bayern Munich and Dortmund for Adeyemi’s signature.

That said, Dortmund are in the front seat after moving ahead of Bayern and the ‘tide has clearly turned’ in BVB’s favour but a move to the Premier League is ‘still possible’.

Liverpool are ‘appealing’ to Adeyemi and if he received a phone call from Jurgen Klopp, it would make the sensational dribbler ‘think twice’ but as was the case with Malen, there is a major obstacle.

The 19-year-old wants to play regularly to develop and he would find that hard to do at Anfield. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are two of the best forwards in the world and are guaranteed starters every week.

Based on that and Dortmund’s greater ability to offer regular football, it really does seem likely that the young German will be on his way to the Bundesliga soon.

It would be a pity if he moves to Dortmund as he’s exactly what Liverpool need. Klopp’s squad could really do with a forward that can make an immediate impact while having immense potential for growth.

And at just €35million (£30m), he’s an affordable target with major upside.
