Olivier Giroud says he would love to join Liverpool

Olivier Giroud has surprisingly said that he would love to join the Reds and says Liverpool have “an amazing stadium and amazing fans.”

While Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino have the potential to make really important contributions in key moments for Liverpool, signing a player like Olivier Giroud would be fantastic.

He gets some stick on social media and he used to be blasted at Arsenal but there is no denying his eye for goal. When you are bringing a striker on from the bench, you want them to have world-class goal-scoring instincts to win a game out of nowhere or from a half chance.

He earns £86,000 a week, would be a fun squad option and would surely score the odd goal for Liverpool.

The Frenchman is that player and with 225 career goals, he’s certainly able to influence results at the top end of the pitch. With the delivery from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson, Giroud would certainly be able to shine at Anfield.

Speaking on The Big Interview with Graham Hunter, he surprisingly stated that he would love to join Liverpool even if he has never been approached by the Anfield outfit.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

“Well, them to me? I don’t think so, but I have to say that Liverpool have an amazing stadium and amazing fans. What player wouldn’t want to play for them?

“They became European Champions League winners, they won the league, they have a great manager.”

At 35, it’s unlikely he would get the call from Jurgen Klopp. However, with the Reds in need of some cover this January transfer window, he would be an interesting option up top for Liverpool.

Of course, cover out wide is needed for Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota, so a versatile winger would be more ideal.
