Liverpool are in the mix for Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports. The Reds even carry an advantage in the race.
This comes from journalist Alfredo Pedulla. He claims that Liverpool are one of several clubs looking to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian is hot property right now, having scored 21 goals last season in Serie A. He has another eight in 12 games so far, too, making him one of the most dangerous young goalscorers around.
Vlahovic, who is still only 21, is considerably more available than most. He enters the final year of his contract this summer and rejected a new one last month.
That provides teams with a chance – including Liverpool.
And Pedulla believes the Reds are one of the sides chasing Vlahovic. Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid also like the striker as do, unsurprisingly, Juventus.
The Old Lady would be in a very strong position to sign Vlahovic but Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso doesn’t want to sell to them. In fact, he doesn’t want to sell his player to another Serie A side.
Liverpool, then, find themselves with an advantage in this race.
Dusan Vlahovic to Liverpool?
Calciomercato claim that Liverpool actually had scouts watching Vlahovic recently. That would suggest this isn’t just a fleeting interest ahead of a big January window.
After all, that’s the window where Liverpool and other foreign clubs hold power over Juventus. If they can get a deal done then, Juve will be powerless in this race.

That changes in the summer. Vlahovic would only have a single year left on his deal and could quite comfortably push through a transfer to another Serie A club.
But if he wants a move in January, Liverpool could muscle Juventus out of the way and get something done. He’d reportedly cost at least £50m, however.
We have our doubts that Vlahovic is worth that, especially to Liverpool. But if the Reds are serious about him, they do hold an advantage over their fiercest competitors here.
