Jurgen Klopp would reportedly love to sign Federico Valverde; Real Madrid star could leave

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would reportedly love to sign Federico Valverde from Real Madrid, as the Uruguayan grows discontent over his lack game time under Carlo Ancelotti.

This comes from El Nacional. The Catalonian newspaper reports that Real Madrid signing Eduardo Camavinga means that Valverde is no longer even the fourth choice at the Santiago Bernabeu.

MADRID, SPAIN – DECEMBER 22: Federico Valverde of Real Madrid looks on prior the game during the Liga match between Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao on December 22, 2019 in Madrid, Spain.

Not only does Ancelotti have Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro. He now also has new signing Camavinga to choose from and this has led to Valverde feeling unhappy in the Spanish capital.

One thing I noted about Liverpool against West Ham is that they aren’t dirty enough. From a team that regularly wins the Fair Play award, the Reds need to practice the Dark Arts more often.

One such moment that presented itself perfectly was when captain Jordan Henderson was bulldozed by Aaron Cresswell, with the left-back putting in a potentially leg-breaking challenge on the Liverpool midfielder.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Not one of his teammates surrounded the West Ham player or the referee demanding a red card and this meant that Craig Pawson was under less pressure to make a decision.

The whole incident was swept under the rug when Cresswell absolutely should have been sent off and signing someone like, Valverde, who can be quite dirty himself, would only increase Liverpool’s winning mentality.

He committed the greatest professional foul of all time on Alvaro Morata in the Supercopa final, kicking the Spaniard before making sure to trip him for good measure while the then Atletico Madrid striker was bearing down on goal.

While that was borderline cheating, I feel as though that win-at-all-costs mentality is missing from Liverpool’s starting XI and this was underlined by the fact that Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain allowed Jarrod Bowen to waltz past them at the London Stadium.

The left-footed winger assisted Pablo Fornals and, if Fabinho or the Ox had simply fouled him and accepted a yellow card, the goal likely would not have been conceded.

Valverde, valued at £58.5m, would be a fantastic signing for the Reds and if he wants to leave urgently, Liverpool should consider signing him in January or, failing that, in the summer.
