Liverpool announced on Thursday that Thiago Alcantara is back in training. We haven’t seen the Spaniard for some time.
Injuries have once against hurt Thiago’s season. He didn’t actually start a game until September 12th and picked up an injury just a week later.
We haven’t seen him since. Thiago has missed the biggest period of Liverpool’s season, with games against Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United come and gone.
And that’s obviously a huge shame. Thiago is one of the first-choice midfielders at the club and, at his best, one of the world’s most impressive passers.
Fortunately, he’s back. Liverpool showed off training pictures this evening that highlighted his return. Whether that means he’s good to go against Brighton this weekend, we don’t yet know.
Regardless, Thiago’s return is imminent.
Reaction as Thiago returns to training
Fans reacted with glee to the announcement – they’re very ready for Thiago to return to the side. And as many pointed out, he doesn’t actually look the same as we last saw him.
He’s got his hair back. This league is over

Well we’re excited. As we say, there’s no suggestion that Thiago will start on Saturday but we’ll cross our fingers that he makes the bench.
He could be a major addition over the next couple of months, if he stays fit. With Liverpool flying right now, adding one of their most creative players to the mix is an incredibly exciting prospect.

Thiago feeding Mohamed Salah with the form he’s in? It could be something very special. Hopefully, it’s not too long before we see that combination in action.
Liverpool have been a little short in midfield, of course. Thiago’s injury left them light, while Harvey Elliott is gone long-term, too.
Then James Milner picked up a hamstring issue against Manchester United. Naby Keita also went off in that game but, thankfully, seems to be okay.
Thiago’s return eases up a mini injury-crisis, then. It’s one less thing to worry about as the Reds fight for top spot in the Premier League.
