Gary Neville has claimed on his self titled podcast that Manchester City would win the league by Christmas if they had Liverpool’s regular front-three.
Strong attack
City are currently one point behind Liverpool in the Premier League table and the only reason Neville feels that Pep Guardiola’s side are beatable is due to their lack of goalscorer.
City pushed hard to sign Harry Kane in the summer, but were unable to get a deal over the line.
As a result, Neville does feel that Liverpool have an advantage over City up top due to the strength of their attacking players.
“I know sometimes we talk about this front three with Liverpool. We talk about Firmino, Mane and Salah – we put them all together because they have been awesome together,” he said.
“But he [Salah] is a level above the other two. The other two are fantastic players, I love all three of them.
“I was saying when City had Sterling, Aguero and Sane – I thought Liverpool’s front three were better then.
“I still think they’re better now. If the front three of Liverpool was in the City team this league would be done by Christmas. They just haven’t got the cutting edge up-front that Liverpool have still got.”

Liverpool’s big advantage
Salah once again showed his ability to hit the back of the net in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with City yesterday.
The Egyptian scored a quite brilliant goal to put the Reds 2-1 up at the time.
Salah beat Bernardo Silva before cutting inside and creating run for a shot, which rifled beyond Ederson and into the back of the net.
There may be more question marks over what Firmino and Mane would add to City’s team currently, though.
Mane has started the season strongly for Liverpool this time around, but he didn’t actually reach double figures last term.
Firmino, meanwhile, has lost his place as a guaranteed starter for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
The Brazilian is often left on the bench, with Diogo Jota favoured, but on his day he still remains a big threat.
