Karim Adeyemi will cost over £20m this January, according to reports. RB Salzburg are bracing themselves for offers.
This comes from the Athletic. They claim that Karim Adeyemi will cost over £20m to move in January.
The figure is a sensible one. Salzburg apparently rejected £12m from Barcelona back in 2020 and he’s now ‘worth double that amount, at least’.
The reason for that is obvious – Adeyemi is on fire this season. Stepping into the void left by Erling Haaland and Patson Daka, the 19-year-old has scored seven goals in nine Austrian Bundesliga games this season.
On top of that, the teenager is shining in the Champions League. Adeyemi won three penalties in one half against Sevilla a few weeks ago and he followed that up by wining another against Lille on Wednesday.
Adeyemi then scored the penalty before slotting home another in the second half.
That will naturally draw interest – in fact, it already has. Christian Falk tells Bild that Liverpool want the player, though they’re far from alone in that.
Salzburg will expect the Reds to be one of the players looking at the talent this January, then.
Adeyemi to cost over £20m
Honestly, it’s a fair price at this stage. You can just about justify £30m.
There would be doubts if Adeyemi’s good form only came in the Austrian league but he’s proving to be more than a handful for Champions League sides. Good Champions League sides, too – Sevilla and the reigning French champions.
Adeyemi’s pace is absolutely electric and he knows how to use it, too. He’ll drive in behind for passes and he’s also happy to run at defenders. Add in the goals and it’s easy to see a very special player.
We’re very, very impressed and want Liverpool at the front of any queue for Adeyemi. It sounds as though that queue is forming for January – so the Reds better figure out the right price fast.
