Season to forget

Kopites are growing tired of persistent injury issues.

The Reds title defence was completely derailed by fitness problems last term.

By early November we’d lost our starting centre back partnership for the season.

By February we were panic buying players with not a single senior centre back left fit.

Only a handful of players finished the campaign without having been sidelined for weeks at a time.

Gareth Southgate confirms Alexander-Arnold blow

This season has seen no let up in the side’s poor luck.

Harvey Elliott started the season brightly but he’ll miss most of the campaign due to a horror injury.

Meanwhile, Thiago is out until after the international break with a calf problem.

The Scouser in our team didn’t travel to Porto due to a groin problem and the boss said it didn’t look good for the weekend.

Today Gareth Southgate has all but confirmed Alexander-Arnold won’t face Manchester City.

The England boss left the Scouser out of his Three Lions squad for upcoming qualifiers.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool are going to miss the Scouser on Sunday.

Some of us were harbouring hopes that he might just make it.

If he isn’t fit enough for the England squad then we can’t see that happening.

Thankfully, James Milner has been outstanding in his last two outings at right back.
