This weekend was a tough one for Liverpool but it was by no means a disaster. The Reds were held to a draw by a valiant and worthy Brighton side. Despite the result we’re still top of the league, for now. Speaking on his podcast over the weekend, Gary Neville labeled Liverpool as one of the best sides in Europe.

Tough evening at the office
Now and then Liverpool come up against a side who play like us.
These games are typically our most entertaining of the season, we either blow them away immediately or we’re in for a tight but exciting affair.
This weekend it was the latter as Liverpool drew 3-3 with Brentford.
Thomas Frank got his game plan spot on, overloading the far post to great effect.
Meanwhile, Diogo Jota scored yet another header, Mo Salah notched his 100th Liverpool league goal and Curtis Jones fired home a rocket.
Gary Neville on Liverpool
The result at the weekend has led to some reactionary comments.
We are still top of the league but for some reason some pundits and fans are growing concerned after one game against strong opposition.
Gary Neville lavished high praise on Liverpool but with an element of uncertainty, telling his podcast:
“I don’t think Liverpool are just right. That means they are still excellent, one of the best four teams, three teams in Europe, but they are just not right. I have seen them achieve a standard that is out of the world.”
What RTK has to say
He is right, we are one of the top three sides in Europe.
However, the accusation that we aren’t quite right is a bit over the top.
You can’t win every game, we’re at the start of the season and the side is still getting into a rhythm.
We’ll soon hit our stride and we’ll be relentless.
