'We cannot just leave it': Jurgen Klopp realises serious Brazil problem

Jurgen Klopp has pointed out a real problem with Brazil games next month. It’s one that will almost certainly hurt Liverpool.

Friday saw Brazil announce their squad for three upcoming internationals. Two Liverpool players will feature – Alisson Becker and Fabinho.

Roberto Firmino was left out, however. Brazil reportedly have concerns over his overall fitness after just 81 minutes for Liverpool this season.

Now, there’s already some worry around all of that. Brazil called these players up while hoping for quarantine exemption – but there’s no guarantee that they’ll get it.

If not, then we’ll run into the same problem as earlier this month.

But that’s only one part of this. Jurgen Klopp sees another problem with his Brazil players and it’s one that really might be unavoidable. Unfortunately, it’ll likely cost Liverpool.

Klopp sees Brazil problem

Brazil’s final fixture is against Uruguay on October 15th. Liverpool’s first game after the international break is against Watford on October 16th.

You can probably see the issue here.

“There must be a solution because we cannot just leave it like this, it is a problem,” said Klopp, per ESPN. “I know that the decisive people are working on that but there’s nothing decided yet as far as I’m concerned.

“It’s only after the international break but anyway, we have a problem when the Brazilians are allowed and I expect them to go to the national team so we have a 12.30 p.m. (BST) kickoff at Watford and I think the game for Brazil is on Friday night or morning at 1.30 a.m (BST).

“Obviously nobody thought about that yet and I know it’s a Liverpool problem, nobody else’s problem so good for Watford. But I just don’t know how you can do these kinds of things that nobody reacts to the schedule.”

Good for Watford, as Klopp says. Unless that game is cancelled at the very last minute, it’s tough to see a way around it. Liverpool will just have to face the Hornets without Alisson or Fabinho.

That’s very frustrating and you’ve got to wonder how it’s happened. The quarantine restriction is one thing but the fixture clash is a completely avoidable issue.
