Ibrahima Konate says he noticed something ‘very important’ immediately after joining Liverpool. The Frenchman is off to a great start with the Reds.
Ibrahima Konate has a fair bit of pressure on him right now. He arrived this summer as Liverpool’s only signing, with the Reds paying £36m to bring him in from RB Leipzig.
And the last week has given us our first real taste of him. Konate started games against Crystal Palace and Norwich, keeping clean-sheets in a pair of 3-0 wins.
You can’t really ask for much more than that from a new player – especially when they’re still as young as 22. Konate is fitting in quickly, then.
But that’s been clear to him for a while.
Konate on ‘very important’ introduction
Konate says he’s felt at home with Liverpool since the very first day – something he describes as ‘very important’. His new teammates, it seems, did a wonderful job of integrating him into the setup.
“Every player helped me in this team when I came the first day, to be like at my home,” he told Liverpoolfc.com. “This was very important for a new player and for me.

“Now, I think every player can see this on the pitch: I am very happy to be with every player. This is good and I hope this will continue in the future.”
Konate then picked out Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Divock Origi as the three players he’s connected with most. They’re fellow French speakers, after all, and the 22-year-old says that makes things easier.
So all in all, things are going really well. Konate feels at home, he’s started with some strong performances and we can all look forward to his development.
It’s still early days but things are looking very positive.
