'Surprisingly great': Liverpool teenager wows fans who think he could be 'backup to Fabinho'

This week Liverpool waltzed into the fourth round of the EFL Cup with a win over Norwich City. Jürgen Klopp handed out debuts to a number of Liverpool youngsters. One young man who came on in the second half caught the eye. Liverpool fans were wowed by Tyler Morton v Norwich City.

Given the two sides’ polar opposite starts to the season this was always going to be a tough ask of the Canaries.

The Reds showed at Carrow Road that not only do they have solid strength in depth but the club also boasts some exciting prospects in the pipeline.

18-year-old Conor Bradley started at right back and despite a few errors he had a solid, determined and impressive game overall.

Kaide Gordon also made his debut at just 16-years-old, showing bright moments throughout the game.

Two goals from Takumi Minamino and a header from Divock Origi sealed the Reds’ win.

Meanwhile an impressive penalty save from Caoimhin Kelleher ensured a clean sheet.

Tyler Morton v Norwich City

Tyler Morton came on for the second half against Norwich City.

The Wirral born 18-year-old midfielder has been a standout performer in the academy in recent years.

Plenty were surprised to see him get the nod at Carrow Road but he took his opportunity with both hands.

Throughout the second half he was composed, collective and aggressive whilst playing as a holding midfielder.

It was a faultless 45 minutes from the youngster.

Kopites were left wowed by the teenager, particularly given that he wasn’t one of the youngsters we expected to see.
