Liverpool face Norwich City

The EFL Cup has never been one of Jürgen Klopp’s priorities.

Instead the boss has focused on the Premier League and European Cup.

However, the competition has always been a proving ground for exciting young talents and fringe players looking to get their chance.

For instance we’re expecting to see debuts handed out to Kaide Gordon and Conor Bradley.

Gordon making his debut at just 16-years-old will be sight to behold, he certainly has a lot of hype to live up to.

Meanwhile, Conor Bradley has been impressing enough at academy level to earn him three international caps for Northern Ireland.

Takumi Minamino v Norwich City

We’re expecting Takumi Minamino to lineup on the left wing against Norwich City.

The Japan international hasn’t appeared for the Reds in the league since May.

As a result he needs to take this opportunity with both hands.

It’s safe to say that things haven’t exactly worked out since his switch from Salzburg.

However, at just 26-years-old he still has plenty of time to find his form.

There is certainly a player in there but he needs regular minutes.

If he wanted to get regular minutes then he’s going to have to impress in the cup, he has to show the boss what he can do.

We need him to kick on with the AFCON looming, he’ll likely have to fill in for Mo Salah or Sadio Mane.
