This summer Kopites were begging for a forward to be signed. The Reds decline to invest in the final third and as a result we’ve been left short of depth in attack. One man reportedly on the shortlist has been impressing. Garth Crooks has heaped praise on Liverpool target Ismaila Sarr.
Liverpool target Ismaila Sarr
This is a story which has been running for some years.
The Liverpool ECHO previously reported that Liverpool had Ismaila Sarr on the same shortlist as Diogo Jota.
Meanwhile 90min went as far as to claim that the Reds were preparing a £40m bid for the Watford winger.
On the face of it the Senegal forward appears the ideal Liverpool signing.
He is just 23-years-old, he can play on either wing or centrally and he won’t demand obscene wages off the bat.
Garth Crooks on Ismaila Sarr
This weekend Watford beat Norwich 3-1, piling further misery on the Canaries.
Sadio Mane’s international teammate bagged two of the goals for the Hornets, he has three in five this term.
Consequently, Garth Crooks has heaped praise on Ismaila Sarr. The pundit wrote in his BBC Team of the Week:
“The movement and anticipation for both his goals was quite outstanding.
“Ismaila Sarr has a lot to offer and has a similar game to his Senegal team-mate Sadio Mane.”
What RTK has to say
It’s interesting to see that the pair netted tap-ins from rebounds this weekend.
The comparisons between Sarr and Mane certainly hold up, the younger of the two must be studying his senior teammate.
This appears to be a link which won’t go away until Sarr leaves Watford.
Unfortunately a move this season didn’t make sense due to the looming AFCON in January.
