New Liverpool song jokes about FSG transfer spending

Liverpool fans weren’t happy with the lack of action over the summer. The Reds only made the one signing whilst we watched those around us make decisive moves in the market. At the weekend Jürgen Klopp’s side showed we’re fine as we are. In response Liverpool fans belted out a new song which makes a joke of FSG and their transfer spending.

Liverpool summer business

This summer Kopites wanted a centre back, a centre midfielder and a striker.

Thankfully the defence was dealt with swiftly on the back of a devastating injury ridden campaign.

Ibrahima Konate was signed before the window was opened and a sense of optimism followed.

Optimism quickly turned to frustration.

It became apparent that the Reds were done in the market. Meanwhile, Manchester City signed Jack Grealish; Chelsea bought Romelu Lukaku; Manchester United bought Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

FSG refused to budge.

This weekend the Reds were on song again.

Jürgen Klopp’s side ran out 3-0 winners over Leeds United.

Mo Salah opened the scoring after good work from No Context Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Fabinho doubled the lead in the second half and a persistent Sadio Mane rounded off the scoring in injury time.

Kopites celebrated wildly. A new Liverpool song making light of how much FSG spend on transfers was doing the rounds. The Anfield Wrap tweeted an excellent video of fans singing ‘the Reds have got no money but we’ll still win the league’.

What RTK has to say

We couldn’t agree more.

Despite FSG refusing to splash out this summer, Liverpool are still well in with a chance of regaining the title.

The Reds have got no money but we’ll still win the league.

That defiance, that optimism, that is what will see us through this season.
