Liverpool fans are generally happy with claims that Caoimhin Kelleher is set to start in goal for them against Leeds United.
Kelleher to start
The Irish Examiner says that Jurgen Klopp looks set to turn to the 22-year-old with Alisson blocked from playing.
Alisson’s absence is obviously a blow for the Reds, given his stature and importance to the side.
But there is faith among Liverpool fans that Kelleher will be able to step up.
And most Liverpool supporters are pleased to see Klopp backing the young stopper over the likes of Adrian or Loris Karius.
Kelleher was forced to step into Liverpool’s team last season, when Alisson was injured, and he was exceptional.
He may not have a great deal of experience, but he coped with the pressure of playing in some vital games for Liverpool and didn’t really put a foot wrong.
Kelleher could be tested this weekend though, against a Leeds side who always pose a threat.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men haven’t started the season particularly well, but they have the attacking quality to cause problems if given chances.
Liverpool, though, will still go into the game as favourites to pick up the three points after their bright start.
And a win for the Reds would keep them right up near the top of the embryonic Premier League table.
