Why Liverpool need a striker

Liverpool fans were disappointed when the window slammed shut this summer.

The Reds added a defender the day the window opened but after that it was all sales, loans and renewals.

Plenty of Kopites wanted a striker signed.

As it stands we have four players competing for three starting berths.

Even then one of those players is injured so until Roberto Firmino is back the final third picks itself.

The lack of depth is an issue because Jürgen Klopp is unable to rest and rotate.

There is also a lack of competition which can cause players to become complacent. In addition a couple of injuries puts us in serious jeopardy.

The Reds allegedly face competition from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The 19-year-old Red Bull Salzburg striker recently scored on his debut for the Germany senior side.

Adeyemi’s international landmark capped off a strong start to the season, he’s netted six goals in six games for Salzburg.

According to Bild the teenager is valued at around £17m.
