Injury crisis season

The 2020/21 season is one Kopites want to forget quickly.

It was over before it started for Jürgen Klopp’s side.

By mid-November Liverpool had lost their starting centre back pairing for the season.

The boss ran through some 20 different partnerships by the end of the season with two midfielders starting in the centre of defence at one point.

It was a miracle that Liverpool managed to finish third despite the persistent injury problems blighting the side.

Harvey Elliott injury update

Already this season we’ve seen Roberto Firmino limp off.

The Brazilian was ruled out for a couple of weeks and will be racing to be fit again to face AC Milan.

Since then Takumi Minamino has been withdrawn from the Japan squad due to a fitness problem.

To top it all off Harvey Elliott withdrew from the England U21s squad due to injury this week.

Thankfully, James Pearce has reported for The Athletic that the problem is not serious and his withdrawal is a mere precaution.

The youngster is believed to be in contention to face Leeds United on Sunday.

What RTK has to say

This is the update every Kopite wanted.

When the Reds announced that Harvey Elliott had left the England camp due to injury we all sighed the same helpless sigh.

Here we go again we thought.

Thankfully we could in line for another exciting display from the wonderkid this weekend, Leeds United will be a big test for him.
