'I've never had that': Jurgen Klopp makes plans ahead of leaving Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp will be leaving Liverpool in the next few years. The Reds’ boss already knows what he’s going to do.

We may only have three more seasons of Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager. His contract expires in the summer of 2024, meaning there really isn’t much time left.

It’s a short enough spell that Klopp is really thinking about what he’s going to do. Or at least, journalists are forcing him to.

The Liverpool boss was once again facing the subject this week as RTL asked him about his future plans. Klopp knows exactly what he’s going to do.

“It’s nice that I’m asked that again and again,” he said in response to RTL.

“When the contract in Liverpool ends, whatever it will be, I first have to find out what it is like to lead a ‘normal’ life again. A year off. I’ve never had that. But I’m deeply relaxed there.

“When you’re out for a year, it can also be a good thing that maybe no cock crows at me, which is perfectly fine. There are so many good coaches out there.”

We can be fairly confident that Klopp will get offers from all over the place. We’re even wondering if a few of Liverpool’s rivals may try their hand, let alone the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

It’s safe to say that Klopp earned himself a year away from the game, though. There will be clubs waiting for him, too, and who knows? Perhaps Liverpool are one of them.

All we really know is that we should enjoy these next three seasons. Liverpool have reached levels under Klopp that they hadn’t seen in over 30 years. We’re not ready to embrace the end of that just yet.
