Here are three Liverpool-linked forwards we think you should follow closely in 2021/22. The Reds will surely try to add a new threat next summer.
Liverpool will almost certainly look at forwards at the end of the 2021/22 season. All three of their famed front-three will be 29 or older – it’s time to consider the future.
So with that in mind, we pick three that the club almost certainly have eyes on.
Alexander Isak
We went into more detail on this one here. Alexander Isak is a 21-year-old striker for Real Sociedad who could well be a steal next summer.
Noticias de Gipuzkoa believe Liverpool have interest and why wouldn’t they? Isak has scored 33 goals over the last two seasons while showing a wonderfully versatile game.
He should only improve, too, and we expect an even better version of the Swede in 12 months’ time. If the Reds want someone to lead the line, we think Isak could be the answer.
Pedro Goncalves
Record believes Liverpool like Pedro ‘Pote’ Goncalves and why wouldn’t they? The 23-year-old exploded onto the scene last season.
Operating as an attacking-midfield/winger, Goncalves scored 23 goals to finish top scorer in the Primeira Liga. But that was just the icing on top – he was the star of the show as Sporting won their first title since 2002.
He’s started this season in fantastic form, too, scoring four times in Sporting’s opening six games. We’re huge fans of Pote and if he keeps this up, Liverpool won’t do much better.
Jonathan David
Liverpool supposedly looked at Jonathan David back in 2020 but settled on Diogo Jota instead. The Canadian then joined Lille.

Like Pote, that move proved to be a fantastic one. David started slowly but ended up scoring 13 Ligue 1 goals as Lille surprised everyone to win the title.
It’s quite remarkable for someone who doesn’t turn 22 until January. David should only get better and better but he’s already a wonderful fit for Liverpool.
You can bet that the Reds will be back in for him if he shows similar qualities over this season. David could be exactly what they’re looking for.
