Liverpool fans have been crying out for an attacker to be signed this summer. The Reds are shy of strength in depth in the final third. We’ve been linked with plenty of forwards but as of yet the club haven’t made any solid steps. According to The Athletic, Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen won’t be moving on transfer deadline day.
Lack of options up top
Kopites are growing concerned with the lack of quality in depth in the final third.
The Reds have four players covering three attacking roles and one of those players is injured.
We saw last weekend that Jürgen Klopp isn’t happy with his attacking options.
Divock Origi didn’t make the bench and when we needed a goal against Chelsea the boss brought on a left back instead of Takumi Minamino.
We need to bring in a striker to beef up our options in the final third.
Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen update
Earlier this summer The Athletic reported that Liverpool liked the look of Jarrod Bowen.
The outlet claimed the Reds had shortlisted the West Ham forward as the club looked to add firepower to the attack.
Since then West Ham reportedly slapped a price tag of at least £35m on their exciting forward.
Today The Athletic has claimed that West Ham won’t be letting Bowen leave this window but the Reds will continue to monitor his progress in East London.
What RTK has to say
We were beginning to warm to the idea of Liverpool buying Bowen.
He’d be a smart signing for the Reds.
Just 24-years-old and with his best years ahead of him he would provide decent cover and competition in the final third.
Perhaps one more season at West Ham is what he needs, we don’t think this one is completely over.
