Liverpool have had some sensational strikers at the club down the years. Few players have frustrated as much as Luis Suarez’s strike partner, mainly due to the forward’s injury record. That same striker has been heaping praise on a peer. Liverpool icon Daniel Sturridge has said clubs should be lining up to sign Son Heung-min.
Sturridge at Liverpool
What a time to be a Kopite the 2013/14 season was.
Liverpool played some of the best football they’ve played in recent decades.
Brendan Rodgers had his side playing some scintillating stuff and we had the lethal strike partnership of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez gobbling up chances.
In his best season for the Reds we saw Sturridge net 21 goals, it was also the only season he started 20 games for the Reds.
Injuries completely derailed the striker’s career with him in and out of the side before he eventually joined Trabzonspor.
Daniel Sturridge on Son Heung-min
The ex-Red is still watching the Premier League intently.
This weekend Daniel Sturridge was left impressed by Son Heung-min.
The South Korean star netted the only goal as Spurs beat Watford.
It was a terrific freekick which was whipped into the far corner from distance without a touch along the way.
Truth be told the keeper could’ve done better but it was still an excellent strike.
Sonny was dangerous throughout with his pace and direct running, prompting Studge to take to Twitter.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool fans would love the Reds to sign Son, we’re sure.
He is tailor made for Jürgen Klopp with his versatility and determined running.
Unfortunately it’s just one of those deals which won’t ever happen.
Though you do have to agree with Sturridge here: why do we never hear about sides trying to poach Son from Spurs?
